Thanks for all of your continued patience. We feel like a 6 year old waiting for Christmas. Except December 24th date keeps moving on us. In an attempt to keep all of you as up to date as possible We wanted to tell you everything we know about when to expect seeing any more Eclipse SUP boards.
As an authorized Hobie Eclipse SUP dealer we can only are allotted a few Eclipse SUP boards per location on the initial shipments. Believe me its not many at all and we have tried hard to get more. Some Eclipse boards are starting to ship from Hobie to dealers around the nation. Most dealers will not see there first boards until June. We project getting a first shipment of Eclipse boards in May. That initial shipment has been pre-sold. If you were one of the lucky few that ordered your board right away. Well you’re going to get one early! Nice work. We have another shipment booked and we guesstimate it will be here in July. At this point we are sold of that shipment as well. We predict some may not want to wait that long and may cancel. Totally understand and no problem. Let us know if that’s what you’d like to do and we will take care of you.
So on to the issue at hand. You want a board and you have not had a chance to reserve one yet…. Get ready …. set …wait! Yea sorry. But that’s what it’s looking like.
Hobie just released the message below. Basically it says the next round of Eclipse SUP Boards are not going to ship until September at the earliest. Ouch …wow. Not sure how to take this news. Certainly disappointing for both you as amazing customers as well as us – best retailer ever:) . To that, it is what it is and not a lot either of us can do about it. The Eclipse boards have been so well received Hobie simply cant make enough. Its crazy. Hobie suggests below that customers should reserve boards with there local dealers by placing a deposit with us to reserve your board. Well that’s a good way to do it. Why? Well Hobie is requiring dealers put a deposit for each pre-ordered board with them. To be open its kinda odd but makes sense. Alright. So how should we do this? Currently our website is set up to charge all or nothing. we cant really charge for partial payment. We are working on a solution to that. in the mean time Place an order on our site and we will refund all but $300 for any Boards ordered with a September delivery date.

Due to the resounding response to the Mirage Eclipse, we recommend you contact your local Hobie dealer to reserve yours today.
First and foremost, we want to thank you for your positive response to our newest product category, the game-changing Hobie Mirage Stand Up Boards! We certainly expected this innovative new category to have a major impact on the world of watersports when we launched the Mirage Eclipse series in April; we have been amazed and grateful beyond belief that the response would be so instant, so global, and so eager —- clearly a product gone viral!
It is evident that the Mirage Eclipse has resonated with water sports enthusiasts the world over. It is particularly amazing to have a response of this magnitude, virtually selling out most of our dealers’ Mirage Eclipse allocations immediately, given that this product has sold primarily without the opportunity to ‘touch and feel’ the product. Our Mirage Eclipse video has clearly brought this product to life in a huge way.
To say this response was unprecedented is a gross understatement, which is saying a lot given the dozens and dozens of successful product launches Hobie Cat Company has been a part of through the years. We sincerely apologize for the delay in our ability to deliver the volume of product needed to satisfy the market demand for the Hobie Mirage Eclipse series. While we have already started shipping meaningful quantities of Mirage Eclipse boards, it is becoming apparent that our deliveries will stretch out beyond this summer season in most markets before satisfying initial customer demand.
If you have not yet ordered your Hobie Mirage Eclipse, our best suggestion is that you contact your local Mirage Eclipse dealer and find out what the current backlog is. In most cases, it will be possible to place a deposit towards future production to reserve your place in line for the next available Mirage Eclipse in your area.
With a deposit in place, your Hobie dealer will stay in communication with you as to when you may expect delivery as we provide them with production updates.
We sincerely regret not being able to get each and every one of you your Hobie Mirage Eclipse board tomorrow! We can, however, promise you that it will be worth waiting for —- the customers who have received their Mirage Eclipses are head-over-heels over their fun new boards that have opened up a whole new view from the water for them as they Step On and Go.
