“Wow!” is all we can say to the overwhelming response to Hobie’s new Eclipse SUP boards! Hobie expected these to do well but no one saw the explosive media coverage and resulting customer demand coming!
We have been fielding a lot questions since Hobie’s introduction of this board, primarily surrounding availability. In an attempt to keep all of our customers well informed, here is the process we have set up and what we know to date:
– We are currently taking pre-orders for all sizes and all colors
– The pre-orders are on a “first come, first served” basis, based on the availability of the board you’ve pre-ordered. This does mean that your buddy down the street who ordered after you could get their board first if they ordered something different and it becomes available to us before the one you ordered does.
– Hobie currently has two shipments of boards scheduled. Our early shipment (scheduled for late April/mid May) is SOLD OUT while we still have a couple of boards available in the second shipment (scheduled for late May/early June). We expect a third shipment to arrive 30-60 days following that, though Hobie is not taking pre-orders or providing a schedule for this shipment.
This is, of course, further out than we – and you, undoubtably – were hoping to see. Hobie is doing their best to keep up with the overwhelming demand and to ship evenly across their Eclipse dealerships.
